Is Led Fluorescent Light

Fluorescent lighting they come in two primary types.

Is led fluorescent light. The fluorescent bulbs have inert gas with the glass casing while leds have solid state technology. A fluorescent lamp or fluorescent tube is a low pressure mercury vapor gas discharge lamp that uses fluorescence to produce visible light. Also the leds produce electromagnetic radiation through a small portion of the visible light spectrum. Led bulbs can produce the same amount of light as incandescent or fluorescent bulbs but using less energy or watts.

Lighting ability led lighting is ideal for directional lighting in things like flashlights and desk lamps. Led grow lighting puts off next to no heat whereas fluorescent grow lamps run cool yet growers do need to consider the heat put out by fluorescent lighting to some degree particularly with high output t5 fluorescent lighting. This is due to the fact that the color wavelengths spike at blue green and red generating a harsher color rendering. When a fluorescent bulb is lit it gives off lighting all the way around the bulb or otherwise 360 degrees.

Natural sunlight produces smooth color transitions from blue to green to red something fluorescent artificial lighting cannot mimic. In other words they produce more lumens per watt. With t8 tubes it can be as simple as take the old tube out and put the new led in. A 300 watt led lamp can provide an output which is equivalent to a 600 watt fluorescent tube.

Led lights can save up to 50 of light energy as opposed to the fluorescent lights. The average life expectancy of an led bulb is 50 000 hours. The simple answer is yes you can put an led bulbs in a fluorescent fixture but you must work out which type of fluorescent tube and fixtures that you have for your lighting. An electric current in the gas excites mercury vapor which produces short wave ultraviolet light that then causes a phosphor coating on the inside of the lamp to glow.
